Due to the storm that devastated many parts of Iowa, Kirkwood Community College is pushing the school start date back a week.
Kirkwood said the main campus in Cedar Rapids has no power, and it is unknown when it will be restored.
'The cleanup effort is underway and necessary repairs to Kirkwood buildings and property are ongoing,” according to a message on Kirkwood's website.
There are 130 Washington High school students signed up to take concurrent credit courses through Kirkwood to earn college and high school credit.
The start date is being pushed back to Aug. 31 to allow time for the school to ensure the campus is ready. Campus locations will reopen on Aug. 17.
More updates will be posted on Kirkwood.edu.
