Kirkwood summer camp resumes this year

Kirkwood for Kids Summer Day Camp will return this summer.
The camp was canceled last year due to COVID-19 but is returning with new safety steps and format changes.
With the new format, camp will be a three-day experience on Monday, Wednesday and Friday so the necessary cleaning and sanitizing can be accomplished on Tuesday and Thursday. The student enrollment will be drastically reduced, so Kirkwood is offering the camp two times this summer, in both June and July.
To limit exposure further, students will be grouped so that they are with the same camp friends all three days. In order for that to happen, the first- through fifth-grade students get to take part in two unique courses each day, for a total of six classes instead of only three as in past years.
'This truly broadens the camp experience, and we guarantee there is something for everyone at K4K,” according to a newsletter.
Face coverings are required for teachers, volunteers and student.
The cost of camp is reduced, there are no materials fees and for safety reasons they are not able to provide transportation.
Check www.kirkwood.edu/kirkwoodforkids and watch for information on the Facebook page (@kirkwoodwashingtonco) once registration is open.
