Kite flying
?She spins, she tosses, she compels, The kites, the clouds, the windmill sails ??
So goes part of a verse from ?An English Breeze? by Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894), a very appropriate verse for March and kite flying as seen near Broadway and 12th Street Wednesday.

Preschoolers from Ruby?s Little Jewels Daycare were flying kites with a little help from Ruby and her husband, Tim Boese, who spent most of his time untangling the lines and getting kites back in the air.
Four-year-old Colyier Boese tugs on the string to keep his kite aloft as he squints to make sure it is still up there. In the background Drakan Swain, left, and his sister Desimbree Swain take turns keeping their kite in the air.
For this and another photo of the kite fliers, see the Thursday, March 19, 2009, Fairfield Ledger.
