KVFD recognizes retirees

KALONA — Volunteer Firefighters honored two longtime members this month, as Delwyn “Bud” Bender and Jim Hauth retired from the service.
“We cannot thank these two enough for their service and time given to the department and their community,” a Facebook post from the department said. “We were also able to swear in two new members to the fire department, Levi Duwa and Dominic Helmuth who are both eager to serve the community.”
Bender served the department for 36 years and 9 months and Hauth served for 34 years and 4 months.
