OTTUMWA ? Fairfield resident Roy Lamansky, a longtime member of the Indian Hills Community College Board of Trustees, resigned his seat at last week?s regular board meeting.
The board appointed Judith Cox of Fairfield to serve the remainder of Lamansky?s term, which expires in September.
Lamansky was presented a plaque by Indian Hills president Jim Lindenmayer in recognition of his 14 years on the IHCC board, as well as the more than 60 years of public service he has provided to dozens of groups and organizations in Jefferson County and statewide.
Elected as a Penn Township Trustee the day after he turned 21 years old, Lamansky has a cumulative total of more than 100 years of service to public boards and private organizations.
Last year, he was presented a lifetime achievement award by the Iowa Association of Community College Trustees, the first such award ever given by the association.
Lindenmayer said, ?Few trustees have made a greater contribution to the community college program in our community and throughout the state than Roy Lamansky.?
