TIPTON — A financial and tax consulting company with roots in Washington announced earlier earlier this month that is has a new CEO, calling the change a “pivotal leadership transition”
Effective Jan. 1, 2025, LattaHarris said Chip Chaon had assumed the role of CEO and Managing Principal, succeeding Chris Overturf. In a press release, the business said the switch would strengthen its "one-firm" philosophy, and promote unity across its offices throughout the state.
“One of the key motivations behind this transition is our commitment to having a non-client-facing CEO and Managing Principal who can focus exclusively on the firm’s strategic direction and operational excellence,” the release said. “As CEO, Chip will oversee the firm’s day-to-day operations, driving its growth, sustainability, and reputation for quality, integrity, and client satisfaction. His leadership will be instrumental in ensuring LattaHarris continues to deliver exceptional service and innovative solutions to our clients and communities.”
Overturf, meanwhile, will have more time to dedicate to his clients while leading an expansion of the business’ valuation services, according to the release, which said his leadership as CEO was “exemplary.”
“Under his guidance, LattaHarris has strengthened its culture, embraced innovation, and navigated significant organizational and technological advancements,” the release said. “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Chris for his remarkable contributions, which have left a lasting legacy. Chris will remain an integral part of our senior leadership team and a member of our Executive Committee, ensuring continuity and ongoing collaboration.”
In his previous roles as chief operating officer, president, and CEO, Chaon has consistently delivered outstanding results, guiding organizations to success in high-growth, mission-driven, and geographically diverse environments. He holds a B.A. from Coe College and an MBA from the University of Iowa, combining academic rigor with real-world experience to navigate complex business landscapes with confidence and agility.
“We are excited about the opportunities this transition creates and remain steadfast in our mission to uphold the values and principles that have defined LattaHarris for decades,” the release concluded. “Please join us in thanking Chris Overturf for his outstanding leadership and in celebrating Chip Chaon’s new role. Together, we look forward to continuing to serve our clients and communities with integrity, innovation, and excellence.”
