MT. PLEASANT - The Mt. Pleasant Community Theatre Association will be bringing its first live radio comedy 'Laughter is Good Medicine” to the airwaves this Sunday at 8 p.m.
Association President Barb McRoy said the show will be similar to old-school radio shows like 'The Lone Ranger” and 'Fibber McGee and Molly.” The show is expected to last about an hour and is a collaborative project with local station KILJ.
'It'll be fun. Since we're not allowed to have a live production with an audience, we hope people will listen in like families used to for entertainment,” McRoy said.
The show will feature veteran actors Dan Snavely, Jenny Wilkerson, Mark Kimzey, Carrie Muhs, Kayleigh Septer and Jack Thomas and several new voices, including Mark Hempen, Ashley Hobbs, AJ Albert, Lauren Rawls, Becky Morey and Dave Wendt.
Following the show on Sunday, two more episodes will air on Aug. 23 and Aug. 30. Each episode will rerun the Wednesday after its initial airing.
