Leo C. Brau, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Monday, Aug. 31, 2015, at Pleasant Manor Care Center, in Mt. Pleasant.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, in Mt. Pleasant, with Rev. Joseph Phung officiating. Leo C. Brau, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Monday, Aug. 31, 2015, at Pleasant Manor Care Center, in Mt. Pleasant.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, in Mt. Pleasant, with Rev. Joseph Phung officiating. Friends wishing to sign the guest book may call after 3 p.m., on Monday at the Murphy Funeral Home, in Mt. Pleasant, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Brau was born on Feb. 29, 1924, in Onawa, the son of Pat and Vera McCabe Brau. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1941, and later from the University Of Iowa College of Pharmacy. He married Marilyn Bailey on Nov. 12, 1955, at St. Paul Catholic Church, in Burlington.
He and his father owned and operated Brau Pharmacy, in Mt. Pleasant, for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving his country during World War II.
He was member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. He enjoyed watching the Mt. Pleasant Panthers, the Chicago Cubs, and supporting his children and grandchildren in their many activities.
Brau is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of Mt. Pleasant; and his children, Patrick C. (Elizabeth) Brau, of Mt. Pleasant; Michael (Gerhild) Brau, of Iowa City; Bev (Jim) Alderson, of Mt. Pleasant; John (Dana) Brau, of Homer, Alaska; Jim Brau, of Mt. Pleasant; and Anthony Brau, of Boiling Springs, Pa.; 13 grandchildren; and his sister, Joan Brau Carman, of West Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter.
