Letts man charged for driving while license under suspension

A man from Letts was charged and summoned to court after an investigation concluded he was driving with a suspended Iowa driver's license.

Alphonzo Dillon III, 31, of Letts, was stopped at the intersection of East Washington Street and South Walnut Street while driving a red 2000 Ford Taurus for failing to obey a traffic control device on Monday, May 6, at 4:11 a.m.

After an investigation, it was found that Dillon was driving with a suspended Iowa driver's license. He was charged and summoned to court for driving while license was under suspension, a simple misdemeanor. He was also given a written warning for failing to obey traffic control device.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
