Lewis G. ?Pete? Petersma, 80, of Keosauqua, died at 4:22 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Burial, with military rites by American Legion Beer-Barker Post, will be in Fellows Cemetery, Keosauqua.

Lewis G. ?Pete? Petersma, 80, of Keosauqua, died at 4:22 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Burial, with military rites by American Legion Beer-Barker Post, will be in Fellows Cemetery, Keosauqua.
Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with family present from 6-8 p.m.
Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 807 Division St., Keosauqua 52565.
Mr. Petersma was born March 12, 1931, in Leighton, the son of Ben and Artie Kelderman Petersma. He married Betty Hartness Dec. 19, 1951, in Oskaloosa.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steve Petersma and wife Shirley of Keosauqua and Michael Petersma and wife Laura of Lenexa, Kan.; two daughters, Deb Smelser and husband Rick of San Jose, Calif., and Cheryl Griffin and husband Blake of Des Moines; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Rose Kettles of Pleasant Hill.
