Libertyville holds public hearing about water storage

The city of Libertyville will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Libertyville Fire Station to review an application for a State Revolving Fund loan from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, and to make available to the public the contents of an environmental information document and the city?s project plan.
These documents include design and environmental information related to the proposed improvements to the city?s water supply system.
The proposed project entails dismantling and removing the existing water storage tank, construction of a new water storage standpipe and replacement of 6,000 feet of water main. The new standpipe will be constructed on a new site within city limits. The water main replacement will be constructed along existing water mains also in the city limits.
The purpose of this public hearing is to inform area residents of the community of Libertyville of this proposed action, discuss the actual cost and user fees associated with this project and to address citizens? concerns, if any, with the plan.
All interested persons are encouraged to attend this hearing.
Written comments on this proposal also may be submitted prior to the hearing.
