With the threat of rain in the forecast for Saturday, Jon and Lori Andermann are extending the free lily tour of their gardens for another week.
The tour is scheduled for Saturday, July 10, from 7-11 a.m. at their rural Lockridge home at 1015 250th St.
Lori Andermann said they decided to have the tour on July 17 as well because of the threat of rain on July 10.
Besides, she says, the lilies appear to be a week away from their peak.
The Andermann’s have approximately 400 different kinds of daylilies and lilies including Asiatic, Oriental, Turk’s cap, trumpet, and lily trees. Anyone who would like to tour the lilies but cannot come during set hours is welcome to call 319-696-2565 to set up an appointment.
“It’s been a challenging spring with such extreme weather conditions,” Lori said. “In the last two months, we’ve had frost, 101 degree temperatures, flooding and drought.”
