How will your high school experiences help you in coming years?
My high school experiences have taught me how to be responsible and be able to handle many responsibilities at once. I was involved in many activities and I was able to spend a large amount of time doing those activities and I was still able to keep up with all of my schoolwork. Knowing how to be responsible and get my schoolwork done will help me in the coming years as I attend college.
Fondest memory of high school?
My fondest memory of high school is when my volleyball team made it to the substate game. This was a very important moment because my school had never made it to this point in the tournament ever before and it was my senior year with many girls that I had grown up playing with. I will never forget the feeling that I had while playing that game.
Which teachers have had the biggest impact on your education and why?
The teachers that have had the most impact on my education are my high school science teacher Mrs. Lefeber and my 6th grade teacher Mr. Wilson. These teachers taught me that you can always have positive energy and make learning interesting. Sometimes the subjects that I was learning in class were not the easiest but these teachers still found a way to explain the subjects. They made learning fun and I wanted to be in their classrooms.
Who is your role model and how did they influence you?
My mother is my role model, and she has influenced me in everything that I do. She has shown me that I need to be organized and plan out what I am going to do. Responsibility is a very important thing to her and that has influenced me to be a responsible person. My mother knows when to speak her mind and when it is best not to say anything, she is not afraid to confront someone about something. I really admire that about her, and I want to be able to speak to people the way that she does.
What is special about your high school?
My high school is special because everyone feels like they are a part of the school. It is a small school so everyone knows who everyone is. There are no students that do not receive the help that they need. There are activities for anyone to do if they wish to do them. There is a lot of school pride and that makes everyone at the school feel like a part of something. If a sports team does well then everyone at the school supports them.
If you could go back to when you were a freshman, what advice would you give yourself?
I would tell myself to do what makes me happy and have fun as much as you can. There is going to be plenty of time to have to worry about things. Enjoy your time in high school but be responsible keep your grades up. I would tell myself to be in as many things as I want to be but to not force myself to be involved in something if I do not like it.
