The Washington Lions Club donated 252 lunches to heath care workers in Washington.
Wednesday morning, Lions Club members and Unc & Nephs staff delivered meals to Bean's Pharmacy, the Washington County Medical Clinic, WCHC Family Medicine and the McCreedy Home.
The funds for the donations were part of a $10,000 grant from Lions Club International. Alan Olson, the Washington Lions Club secretary, said he asked Unc & Nephs if they were able to make the meals and they agreed.
Olson said the health care workers were appreciative of the meals but also appreciated of the recognition.
While delivering the food, the Lions Club donated a box of 500 face shields to the hospital that were made in Ottumwa.
