Mt. Pleasant Police officers investigated a four-vehicle accident on Tuesday, Aug. 30, at the intersection of South Walnut and East Washington streets.
According to the accident report, a 2007 Ford Truck, operated by Karla Johana Ipino, of Belize, and owned by R.S. Auto Inc., of Lockridge, was westbound on Washington Street and failed to stop for the red light at the intersection of Walnut and Washington streets.
The Ipino vehicle, police said, struck a southbound 2014 Buick, owned and operated by Constance Putney, of Mt. Pleasant. The Putney vehicle then struck a 1997 GMC truck, owned and operated by Ronnie Gadbaw, of New London. The Gadbaw vehicle was stopped in the inside lane at the intersection of Washington and Walnut streets.
As a result of the collision, Ipino?s vehicle collided with a 2015 Dodge Ram truck, owned and operated by Dean Vantiger, of New London. The Vantiger truck was stopped in the outside lane of Washington Street at the intersection. Both the Vantiger and Gadbaw vehicles were stopped for a red traffic light at the intersection.
Damage to the Ipino-operated truck was estimated at $8,000. The Vantiger vehicle sustained approximately $3,000 in damage. Damage to the Gadbaw vehicle was estimated at $2,000 and the Putney vehicle?s damage was listed at $10,000.
Putney was examined and released at the scene by the Henry County Ambulance paramedics.
Ipino was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
