•Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Watson will leave Friday for George, Minnesota. Mr. Watson will do some fishing.
•The New London Athletic Association elected new officers: Pres.-Bert Harper; VP-Les Simmons; Sec-Treas-Wilbur Flam; Directors: Joe Pickle, Clyde Summers, Earl Barry, Elvin Dickey, and James Eversman; and School Board Rep.-Supt. Reppe.
• This week at the Alamo: “Sand” starring Mark Stevens and Rory Calhoun and “A Kiss in the Dark” starring Jane Wyman.
•Bill and Jerry McKinnon received the first veterans’ bonus checks in New London. Bill said he did not know how that happened since his number was in the 7,000s and Leonard Schweitzer was in the 300s.

•Robert Hanson, President of Ramey Retirement Home, has tendered his resignation.
•Mrs. Helen Bishhop and Marcelle McKinnon returned from a 2500 mile trip out east.
•Julie Harper returned to her home in Tampa, Florida after visiting with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Harper and other relatives.

•Lanny Crawford is a surgical patient at Genesis Hospital in Davenport and has had his 14th surgery for hip replacement.
•Class reunions for 1940 and 1956 & 1957 are planned.
