Looking for grace hounds!

Parson to Person
Hunting dogs are truly amazing! I have had the pleasure of hunting with dogs that have an incredible sense of smell. I have read that bloodhounds have 250-300 million scent sensories!
Dogs can literally smell everything but they pick up the strongest scent and follow the trail to the creature that has left the scent trail.
God our Father and creator has left several grace trails for us to track Him and find Him!
Paul, through the Holy Spirit, tells the Romans that every person is without excuse because what can be known about God, His eternal power and Godhead, can clearly be seen and understood in everything He has made including and especially us! God not wanting us to be left in the dark and without hope has left
His artistry everywhere!
David in the Psalms declares “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor.”
David was overwhelmed by the majesty of God in creation that led him to marvel that our creator would want an intimate relationship with us.
He was overwhelmed that indeed we are His greatest creation and everything else was created for us to enjoy and search Him out.
David was overwhelmed that our Creator would bestow such honor upon us.
Paul makes it clear that we all at some point were on the wrong scent, the wrong trail in his letter to the Galatians in chapter 5 when he states “The behavior of the self-life is obvious: Sexual immorality, lustful thoughts, pornography, chasing after things instead of God, manipulating others, hatred of those who get in your way, senseless arguments, resentment when others are favored, temper tantrums, angry quarrels, only thinking of yourself, being in love with your own opinions, being envious of the blessings of others, murder, uncontrolled addictions, wild parties, and all other similar behavior.”
On one occasion when I went hunting with someone their dog caught a scent but we didn't realize it was a skunk until it was too late!
Paul is saying that we all at some point were following the scent of the skunk, the carnal sin nature!
The good news, Jesus left heaven and came to earth, was born of a virgin, lived among us as one of us, lived a sinless life, obeyed the Father by dying on the Cross, rose again three days later all so that we all could get back on the Grace trail!
Which trail are we following? It is never too late to get back on the trail that leads to the Cross which leads to Jesus, which leads to life!
