Loren D. Parks, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died on Friday, June 10, 2016, at St. Luke?s Hospital.
Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, at All Saints Catholic Church, where friends called after 9 a.m. Rev. John R. Flaherty officiated. Entombment, with military rites, was done at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Loren D. Parks, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died on Friday, June 10, 2016, at St. Luke?s Hospital.

Parks was born on Sept. 20, 1926, in Salem, the son of Vernon and Lela Watts Parks. He married Dolores M. Vegalius on March 3, 1951, in Rapids City, S.D.
He worked at Collins Radio for 14 years and later retired from LeFebure Crop., as a draftsman in 1992.
He served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, woodworking, playing pinochle, collecting antique tools and restoring his father?s John Deere H tractor. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
Parks is survived by his wife, Dolores; four daughters, Angela (Dean) Tesar, of Cedar Rapids; Gloria (Don) Tesar, of Vinton; Mary (Matthew) Whitters, of Hudson, Mass.; and Lois (Scott) Vaske, of Marion; and two brothers, Carroll (Alice) Parks, of Mt. Pleasant; and Gail Parks, of Loveland, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles; an infant grandchild; and three brothers, Dean, Leland and Burton.
