Get ready for adventure during Louisa County Conservation’s third annual Women’s Outdoor Workshop focusing on outdoor recreation and conservation activities.
The workshop will be held Saturday, Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Langwood Education Center east of Grandview.
Workshop sessions are designed to provide women the opportunity to try out many outdoor recreation activities, explore the outdoors, and meet other women who also enjoy learning about the environment. Participants will learn from local professionals about exciting topics such as campfire cooking, fire building, paddling, cultural history, and so much more. Women are also invited to camp at Langwood in a tent or the A-frame that Friday night and/or Saturday night.
There is an optional early bird session beginning at 8 a.m. that day. Participants will have the chance to kick off their WOW weekend by climbing to new heights on the Langwood Challenge Course. Women will be able to try out different elements while suspended 30 feet off the ground on the conservation department’s high ropes course.
Pre-registration for this event is required by Sept. 16. Participants must be 18 or older to register. Registration information can be found at LouisaCountyConservation.org.
