In the past couple of weeks feathered parents have been kept extremely busy feeding their newly fledged youngsters and keeping them from harm. Mama Downey Woodpecker flew to the suet feeder, quickly followed by a nearly-as-large offspring that waited for her to pick food from the suet block and feed him/her.
