M.U.M. commencement set

The 2011 commencement ceremony at Maharishi University of Management is set for 1 p.m. Saturday in the Maharishi Patanjali Golden Dome of Pure Knowledge.

This year, 275 students from 44 countries are receiving graduate and undergraduate degrees from M.U.M. Many of them will be in attendance to receive their diplomas during the ceremony.

The commencement speaker will be Norman Rosenthal, a distinguished clinical professor of psychiatry at Georgetown University Medical School. Rosenthal served for 20 years as a senior researcher at the National Institute of Mental Health, and is an author whose research in describing seasonal affective disorder and pioneering the use of light therapy has helped millions of people. His latest book, ?Transcendence: Healing and Transformation Through Transcendental Meditation,? explores the value of the Transcendental Meditation technique for healing and transformation in the modern world.

Everyone in the Fairfield community is invited to the ceremony and the reception for the graduating students immediately afterward in the Argiro Student Center Lobby.
