A scholarship valued at $80,000 will be available to an incoming freshman at Maharishi University of Management beginning this spring.
The scholarship will be available to any high school senior or recent graduate residing in Jefferson County who maintained at least a 3.50 grade point average while attending public or home school and whose family has resided in Jefferson County since 1970.
The renewable, four-year scholarship, along with any available government grants such as the Federal Pell Grant, FSEOG and the Iowa Tuition Grant, will support the recipient with full tuition and single room and board, provided the student maintains a 3.0 grade point average each semester.
Scholars are responsible for applying for the Iowa Tuition Grant before the state deadline and paying student activities and athletic fees of approximately $230 per year as well as an initial security deposit of $100.
A combination of federal work-study and federal student loan funds may be available to help cover the cost of student fees, books and limited personal expenses, contingent on the student's documented financial need. Maharishi Vedic Medicine students must pay an additional $5,000 per year in federal loans or cash due to the program's higher tuition.
