Maharishi Awards ceremony scheduled Friday night

Maharishi University of Management will honor Ron Blair, Dan Burks and Dara Llewellyn at its Autumn Celebration Friday night.

The ceremony will take place at 8 p.m. in the Argiro Student Center festival hall.

Blair, chairman of the Jefferson County Trails Council, will receive a Maharishi Award for leading the effort to create the Fairfield Loop Trail, the final segments of which are just now being completed.

Burks has recently stepped down as M.U.M. recreation center director and is now working with Operation Warrior Wellness. He and his wife Cindy will receive a Maharishi Award.

Maharishi Award recipient Dara Llewellyn is completing the most significant academic publishing project in university history. The 12-volume consciousness-based education book series compiles faculty articles and presentations in each discipline, showing the contribution of the consciousness-based approach to teaching and learning in each area.

The program also will include a presentation of achievements from different areas of the community and celebration cake.
