Main Street Mt. Pleasant will host the annual Small Business Saturday on Nov. 27 at 8 a.m.
The event is dedicated to encourage community members to shop locally.
It’s an event that not only supports community infrastructure, but also downtown businesses and individuals.
“Without the community supporting our downtown, we won't have the stores and 67 percent of what they spend here stays local,” Main Street Mt. Pleasant Executive Director Lisa Oetken said regarding the event in 2019. “The small businesses owners are hiring local contractors for any work they do, they shop local themselves and they employee local people so that money keeps cycling around.”
The first 100 shoppers who have spent a minimum of $50 between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. will be given Shop Small Swag Bags. Every hour 20 bags will be given out to shoppers.
The bags will be filled with an assortment of items ranging from coupons, gift certificates, shirts, or health and beauty products.
Additional drawings will be made every half-hour.
Santa also will make an appearance. Visitors can swing by Santa’s house in Central Park to register for other prizes and to pick up a Swag Bag.
There is a limit of one shopping bag per person.
