Male dies after seizure, two arrested
Washington County ambulance personnel and law enforcement officers responded to a report of a male having a seizure at Layton McDonald Trailer Court in the 1800 block of Louisa Washington Road in rural Columbus Junction, Thursday afternoon. Washington County ambulance personnel and law enforcement officers responded to a report of a male having a seizure at Layton McDonald Trailer Court in the 1800 block of Louisa Washington Road in rural Columbus Junction, Thursday afternoon. That person was pronounced dead upon arrival at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Officers responding to the call arrested Sarah Beranek, 22, of Solon, for possession of a controlled substance. James Hiller, 33, Columbus Junction, for possession of stolen property. The case remains under investigation. The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of relatives.
