Man arrested, charged with driving on wrong side of 218

A man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated on Saturday after multiple callers reported a car traveling on the wrong side of the road.

The following information was provided in a media report.

At 3:30 p.m., the Washington County Communications Center received reports of a white PT Cruiser driving in the wrong lane on Highway 218 near Vine Avenue. The driver was traveling at a high rate of speed and driving on the shoulder of the road, according to callers.

Robert Lee Gregory of Keokuk was cited with operating while intoxicated, driving the wrong way on a two way highway, no insurance, failure to carry registration card and open container.

There are also charges pending for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, according to the report.
