Man arrested following short foot chase
A Chelsea man was arrested on Sept. 20 following a short chase, according to the Mt. Pleasant Police Department.
Slayne Rayman, 32, Chelsea, was apprehended in a residential backyard following a short chase. He was charged with interference with official acts, driving while barred, false reports to public safety entities, second-degree theft, reckless driving and trespassing.

A Chelsea man was arrested on Sept. 20 following a short chase, according to the Mt. Pleasant Police Department.
Slayne Rayman, 32, Chelsea, was apprehended in a residential backyard following a short chase. He was charged with interference with official acts, driving while barred, false reports to public safety entities, second-degree theft, reckless driving and trespassing.
The police report said authorities were called to the area of Grand Avenue and Washington Street at 4:44 p.m. Sept. 20 to check on a suspicious person. An officer arriving in the area located a car driving through the Pep Stop gas station parking lot with a subject hanging out the passenger seat area. The vehicle came to a stop and a suspect ran from the vehicle.
An investigation found that Rayman attempted to steal two separate vehicles from the Pep Stop parking lot. Rayman was transported to the Henry County Jail to await an initial appearance.
