Man arrested in Winfield for public intoxication

WINFIELD - A man from Columbus Junction was arrested and charged with public intoxication first offense in Winfield after an incident on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Manuel Ramirez Cayetano, of Columbus Junction, came to a resident's door in Winfield asking for help when he fell to the ground and appeared to be going in and out of consciousness. The Henry County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a 911 call at 309 E. Center Street in Winfield around 2:50 a.m.

After an investigation by the Henry County Sheriff's Office and the Winfield Police Department, it was found that Cayetano was under the influence of alcohol. Cayetano was examined and cleared by Winfield First Responders. He was arrested and transported to the Henry County Jail where he was charged with Public Intoxication - First Offense, a simple misdemeanor.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
