Man attempts to enter residences after car accident Sunday morning

Law enforcement officers were called after a man involved in a motor vehicle crash approached two different residences and attempted to enter in the 3300 grid of New London Road on Sunday, Feb. 24, around 3:38 a.m.

Dakota Shaw, 22, of Keokuk, was traveling northbound in the 3300 grid of New London Road when he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed his vehicle into the westside ditch of the roadway. HE was driving a blue 2009 Ford F-250.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office received two different 911 calls that a male subject - Shaw - had shown up at two different residences. Henry County units responded, and Shaw was transported to the Henry County Health Center where he was treated and later released.

Shaw was given a citation for failing to maintain control of a motor vehicle.

New London First Responders and paramedics from the Henry County Health Center assisted with this accident.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
