On Oct. 20, at approximately 6:53 p.m., the Henry County Sheriff?s Office received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 3200 grid of Racine Avenue. A resident had arrived home and observed a suspicious vehicle leaving his property. The resident followed the vehicle away from his home while making a call to the sheriff?s office. The vehicle fled from the resident and was located a few minutes later by law enforcement.
A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Brian Keith Tully, 52, of Ottumwa, for third degree burglary, a class D felony.
It is believed that Tully was in the process of burglarizing the resident?s home when the resident arrived home and scared him off. An investigation is currently pending.
Henry County Deputies were assisted by the New London Police Department.
An arrest is merely an accusation and the accused is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
