Man injured in UTV rollover

On March 2 at approximately 7:32 a.m., the Henry County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a single vehicle UTV accident in the 2600 grid of Lexington Avenue.

According to a report from Henry County Sheriff Rich McNamee, an investigation determined that 29-year-old Skylar Bruggemeyer of Mt. Pleasant, operator of a Polaris Ranger, was driving northbound when a deer entered the roadway at about 6:15 a.m.

Bruggemeyer, in an attempt to miss the deer, overcorrected which caused the vehicle to roll and enter the east ditch, the report stated.

Bruggemeyer was driven to the Henry County Health Center, by family, where he was later air-cared to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Injuries are unknown at this time.
