Man robs McDonalds driving stolen pickup, vehicle burns in rural area
A Mt. Pleasant man was arrested early Sunday morning following a robbery at McDonalds and an investigation of a vehicle which was fully engulfed in flame.
Lucas Blint, 33, Mt. Pleasant, was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property and robbery in the second degree after an investigation into a drive-thru robbery at McDonalds led Mt. Pleasant Police officers to believe Blint to be the suspect.

A Mt. Pleasant man was arrested early Sunday morning following a robbery at McDonalds and an investigation of a vehicle which was fully engulfed in flame.
Lucas Blint, 33, Mt. Pleasant, was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property and robbery in the second degree after an investigation into a drive-thru robbery at McDonalds led Mt. Pleasant Police officers to believe Blint to be the suspect.
On Sunday, Aug. 17 at 1:55 a.m., the Mt. Pleasant Police Department and Henry County Sheriff?s Office were dispatched to McDonalds for a report of a drive-thru robbery in progress. According to the press release, the suspect had indicated he wanted money and he had a gun.
The suspect, allegedly driving a silver Dodge truck, had fled the scene had had not been provided any money.
The suspect and vehicle were not immediately located.
At 3:42 a.m. the same morning, the Henry County Sheriff?s Office received a report of a vehicle on fire at 2983 Quincy Ave. The vehicle was a truck matching the description of the vehicle used in the McDonalds robbery.
According to the press release, a male subject was observed walking away from the burning vehicle. The subject was wearing clothing that matched the description of the robbery suspect and was later identified as Blint.
Upon further investigation, it was determined the truck was stolen from the 100 block of North Adams Street in Mt. Pleasant.
Following his arrest, Blint was transported to the Henry County Jail where he was held pending arraignment.
New London Fire, Henry County Health Center and the State Fire Marshall?s Office assisted in the investigation.
