Man sent to hospital after Lake Darling kayak mishap

The Brighton Fire Department and QRS responded to a kayak accident at Lake Darling State Park on Friday afternoon.
According to Washington County Dispatch, they received a call at 2:45 p.m. about a man who fell out of a kayak in the middle of the lake and was yelling for help.
The dispatch report said the caller was unsure if the man in the water was wearing a lifejacket.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene, where they reported that the man was out of the water and very cold.
The man was monitored then taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
