Eight scribblers met at the home of Mary Shy for their monthly March meeting. Betty Rae Geary conducted the business meeting. The plans for the April meeting were discussed. The group decided to stay in town for the meeting instead of going to Iowa City. Karen Osborne will be making the arrangements. There was no other business. Meeting adjourned.
Creative writings were read during the evening. Karen Osborne read ?Steadfast Hopes.? This was a writing about her college summer job in Connecticut. It reminded her of what she learned at IWC in Sociology 101.
Wanita Hobbie wrote about ?Family Stories.? Marilyn Vincent read her annual letter. Betty Rae Geary read her poem, ?Jack Buzzard and Collie Malice College.? Ann Porter read ?Sophistication.? Mary Kopsieker read ?The Harlan Lincoln Bus Trip to Springfield, Ill.?
Mary Ann Freeland added her impressions since she was on that President?s Day Trip.
The evening concluded with delightful conversation over March-colored cookies brought by the co-hostess Mary Ann Freeland.
