Marching Panthers bring home five awards from Missouri Band Day
FAYETTE, Mo. ? Mt. Pleasant Community High School?s Marching Panther Band captured five awards Saturday at the Central Methodist University Band Day in Fayette, Mo.
In the street marching competition, Mt. Pleasant received the Best Color Guard Award in 4A. The drumline took first place and color guard third place in the indoor competition among seven schools in Class 4A.

FAYETTE, Mo. ? Mt. Pleasant Community High School?s Marching Panther Band captured five awards Saturday at the Central Methodist University Band Day in Fayette, Mo.
In the street marching competition, Mt. Pleasant received the Best Color Guard Award in 4A. The drumline took first place and color guard third place in the indoor competition among seven schools in Class 4A.
Jim DePriest?s band topped off the day by placing third among 10 bands in Class 4A at the field show competition, earning the Best Color Guard honor.
The event featured 54 bands and 2,900 students and individual competitions in street marching, indoor drumline and color guard competition, and field show competition.
This Saturday (Oct. 12), the band participates in the Clark County Parade of Champions in Kahoka, Mo., and will finish its competition season at the State Marching Band Festival, hosted by Muscatine High School on Oct. 19.
