Marching Panthers to compete in Monroe City, Mo., festival
The Mt. Pleasant High School Panther Marching Band will be the only band from Iowa participating in the Monroe City Marching Band Festival this Saturday in Monroe City, Mo. Over 1,400 band members in 24 bands will be competing in parade marching, drumline and color guard competition and field show competition.

The Mt. Pleasant High School Panther Marching Band will be the only band from Iowa participating in the Monroe City Marching Band Festival this Saturday in Monroe City, Mo. Over 1,400 band members in 24 bands will be competing in parade marching, drumline and color guard competition and field show competition.
The parade, which travels through downtown Monroe City, will begin at 9 a.m., with Mt. Pleasant scheduled to preform at 10:40 a.m. Indoor drumline and color guard competition starts at 11 a.m., with Mt. Pleasant?s drumline performing in the middle school gym at 11:45 a.m., and the color guard performing in the high school gym at 12:04 p.m. Field show competition, held at the football field, begins at 1 p.m., with Mt. Pleasant performing at 2:45 p.m.
