Marlene ?Molly? Elizabeth English

Marlene ?Molly? Elizabeth English died on Aug. 4, 2016.

Her family has a memorial service planned for Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the VFW located at 300 W. Monroe St., in Mt. Pleasant.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you make any donation to the USO in English?s honor.

English was born on June 6, 1968, the daughter of Lyle and Linda English, of Mt. Pleasant. She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant Community School, class of 1986, as well as a graduate of the University of Iowa, majoring in Political Science. During her studies at Iowa, she also studied at Lancaster University, in England for a year.

She worked for government leaders such as Congressman Jim Lightfoot and President George W. Bush, in Washington D.C.

She enjoyed running, volunteering with the USO and baking cookies for soldiers serving overseas.

English is survived by her parents, Lyle and Linda English, of Mt. Pleasant; and her brother, Steve English, of Eau Claire, Wisc.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Alfred and Marie English; and her maternal grandparents, Willard (Jack) and Aletha Droz.
