Mason House Inn to host volunteer work weekend

The Mason House Inn will present our 1st Annual Volunteer Work Weekend on March 21-23, 2025, featuring a free stay in return for some volunteer time helping to make the grounds beautiful again.
Why? The Mason House Inn, located at at 21982 Hawk Dr. in Bentonsport, is a historical building built in 1846. It needs a lot of love to bring it back to its hey day. With this volunteer work week, we will focus on getting the outside cleaned up and landscaped so it can be as beautiful on the outside as it is on the inside.
What? We will be working with some landscapers who have also volunteered their time and expertise and hoping to get some materials donated to create a beautiful place for guests to enjoy for years to come.
What to bring? Grab your shovels, rakes, chainsaws, gloves, and whatever else you can think of and come on down to have an awesome weekend here at the inn. We have a need for heavier equipment as well. Contact us if you have a skid steer or small tractor that you could bring to receive an extra free weekend for equipment! This will be a fun time with music, hard work, and then some relaxation by the river when we are done.
When? March 21-23 You’re welcome to come earlier on Friday if you want to just get in and get started but most of our work time will be focused on Saturday after breakfast until 5 ( breakfast and lunch provided on Saturday). You are also welcome to work some on Sunday if you choose.
Reach out to us directly at 319-592-3133 to confirm your stay with how many people. We will send out a room confirmation after we fill up with volunteers. If there are more volunteers than rooms, we may extend this to a second weekend.
