Arrests
An officer reported being out with a subject in reference to harassment charges, Sunday night at 190th Street in Columbus Junction. Kent Allen Harrison, 61, of Columbus Junction, was arrested on a charge of first-degree harassment.
Traffic accident
A caller Sunday night at 150th Street in Riverside reported a car-vs.-deer accident. The vehicle, a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, was drivable. The deer ran off. An officer documented the accident for insurance purposes.
Traffic other
A caller Sunday morning at Seventh Avenue in Wellman reported that three vehicles were in violation of the city ordinance, parked the wrong direction on the city street just north of Casey's. All three vehicles were owned by Jesse Gail Boone, of Wellman, and a written warning was issued. The vehicles were removed from the roadway.
Disabled vehicles
A caller Sunday morning at Highway 22 and Hemlock Avenue in Wellman requested that a deputy check on an elderly couple on the side of the road trying to change a flat tire and would not allow her to assist them. An officer responded. The subject had successfully changed the tire, and they were on their way.
An officer reported being out with a disabled vehicle, a green Caravan with no license plates, Sunday afternoon at Kiwi Avenue and Highway 1 in Washington. The vehicle was tagged and added to the system.
Animal complaint
A caller Sunday night at Prost Street in Richland reported that a pitbull charged at someone. An officer was not able to make contact with the dog owner. He planned to check back on Thursday and issue a citation for allowing a dog to run at large.
Civil dispute
A caller Sunday night at Enterprise Drive in Riverside requested an officer to assist with a child exchange. She was in a verbal argument with her ex-husband and he was refusing to let her take their children. An officer responded. The children left with their aunts.
Disorderly conduct
A caller Sunday night at South Wiley Boulevard in Washington requested an officer for an employee threatening other staff members. Two officers responded. The juvenile was left with his parents.
Runaways/missing person
A caller Sunday evening at Parkside Estates Road in Washington reported that their son ran away from the residence. An officer checked several usual locations where the juvenile has gone, and was unable to locate the juvenile. The juvenile was entered as missing. A little over four hours later, at 9:42 p.m., the juvenile was located and cleared from the system. The juvenile ran away from home while the officer was at the residence. He was located at a business by the officer.
Suspicious activity
A caller Sunday evening at E Avenue in Kalona reported suspicious activity at a residence. An officer responded. There was no problem.
Trespass
A caller Sunday afternoon at East Third Street in Washington reported two young children trespassing on his father's property. An officer responded. The owner was notified. The subjects left the property.
All other offenses
A caller Sunday afternoon at East Washington Street in Washington reported two children who appeared to be jumping in front of vehicles by the United Presbyterian Home. An officer responded and checked the area and was unable to locate the children.
A caller Sunday afternoon at Lexington Boulevard in Washington reported another violation of a no-contact order. The subject had left two voice mails on her phone for her that day. An officer was advised. The report was documented.
