May. 17, 2020 3:40 pm
WASHINGTON - The McCreedy Home in Washington currently has no active COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday, according to the Washington County Hospital and Clinics (WCHC) CEO Todd Patterson.
The McCreedy Home, located at 400 East Polk Street, is for long-term care and is attached to the hospital. On Tuesday, April 7, administration confirmed the outbreak.
According to the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH), an outbreak is defined as having more than three residents test positive for the virus. Those who tested positive were reported to have received medical treatment and were recovering in isolation, according to a news release from the hospital.
During a meeting between local industry leaders on Thursday, May 14 Patterson announced there were no new cases and once the insinuation remained that way for 14 days it would be cleared of its outbreak status.
'That's certainly good news from my perspective,” he said.
WCHC has since announced it has begun bringing back specialty services and operations are returning to normal. The medical clinic is expected to reopen today (Monday), he said.
