Aurora, Colo. ? Henry County Sheriff Richard McNamee completed participation in the 107 session of the National Sheriff?s Institute (NSI) held in Aurora, Colo. from April 12 ? 17, 2015. McNamee is the first sheriff in Henry County to graduate from the NSI.
The NSI is the only national executive development program designed for sheriffs. The no-cost program is co-sponsored by the National Institute of Corrections (NIC) and the National Sheriff?s Association (NSA).
McNamee joined 27 other sheriffs from across the country for training on contemporary challenges facing America?s sheriffs today. In light of those challenges, the sheriffs exploded the role of the local sheriff in providing effective leadership for the public good in such areas as public safety, criminal justice policy, community relations and organization effectiveness and efficiency.
?Sheriff McNamee is a leader with vision for the Henry County Sheriff?s Office. It is an honor to have Sheriff McNamee join more than 2,500 graduates of the NSI since 1973,? said Fred G. Wilson, NSA Director of Operations.
