Merle Kenneth Bates, 71, of Washington, formerly of Fairfield, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, in Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. after a sudden illness.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church in Washington with the Rev. Don Hodson and the Rev. Tim Detweiler officiating.
Interment will be at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation began at 9 a.m. today at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washinton

Merle Kenneth Bates, 71, of Washington, formerly of Fairfield, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, in Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. after a sudden illness.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church in Washington with the Rev. Don Hodson and the Rev. Tim Detweiler officiating.
Interment will be at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation began at 9 a.m. today at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washinton and will continue with the family present from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery.
