Mid-Prairie football erupts against EBF
Golden Hawks ground rockets to move to 2-2

WELLMAN — It was all Mid-Prairie on Friday night as the Golden Hawks, who ran all over Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in the Class 2A District 6 opener.
One week after having to cancel their game against Iowa City Regina, Mid-Prairie was back on the field for a 42-0 victory.
The Golden Hawks suffocated EBF on defense and scored six times in the first half, leading 20-0 at the first quarter break and 42-0 at halftime.
Tyler Helmuth ran for 127 yards and three touchdowns to lead Mid-Prairie. Braden Hartley went for 76 yards and two scores.
Mid-Prairei quarterback Will Cavanagh completed nine passes on the day for 136 yards and a score Jackson Pennington caught four balls for 57 yards, and Jerrett Hoffman had three receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown.
Mid-Prairie is now 2-2 overall and 1-0 in district play. They will travel to Central Lee this Friday.
