An incident Friday morning forced Mid-Prairie High School students to be confined to their classrooms for a short time.
According to a letter to parents from Principal Chuck Banks, “Mid-Prairie High School went into a hold” around 10 a.m. Friday.
“Students were asked to remain in their classrooms during this time to allow staff to work with a student,” Banks wrote. “Law enforcement also responded to assist.”
Students and staff were allowed to return to normal procedures around 10:15 a.m.
“We needed to call law enforcement to escort a student out of school,” Mid-Prairie Superintendent Mark Schneider said Friday afternoon. “No one was in danger. We just did that as a precaution.”
Banks thanked students and staff for their cooperation.
“The safety of our students and staff is a priority, and we appreciate everyone's patience,” he said.
