Mid-Prairie IE speakers advance to state contest

PACKWOOD — A total of 18 members of the Mid-Prairie Speech Team competed in 30 events at the Iowa High School Speech Association's Individual Events Speech Contest at Pekin High School on Saturday, March 1. All 30 events received Division 1 ratings, and will be advancing to the IHSSA's State Individual Events Contest at North Scott High School on Saturday, March 15.

At the IHSSA State Individual Events Speech Contest, each performance will be evaluated by three judges. With the nomination of two of the three judges per event, that student and event will advance to the IHSSA Individual Events All-State Festival on Monday, March 31.
