Mid-Prairie packs family academy agenda
Mar. 31, 2022 9:07 am
Mid-Prairie’s spring 2022 family academy event is on the calendar, with a free meal and complimentary child care starting at 5:15 p.m. at the high school.
Throughout the night, the school will offer “real colors training,” run by M-P certified trainer Kristan Hunter.
“Real Colors is a fun and powerful model for understanding yourself and others based on your personality temperament,” a flyer for the event said. “All M-P staff and high school students have done this training and have found it to be a wonderful tool for understanding others.”
At 6, the school will host a presentation from keynote speaker Kendra Bailey, a licensed mental health counselor, titled “Unplugged, find your outlet.”
“Kendra trusts that her clients have the secret to success hidden within themselves,” the flyer said. “She believes that change is constant and that by helping people identify the things they wish to change in their lives, healing takes place.”
The event also will have two breakout sessions at 6:45 and 7:20. Participants will have the choice between a discussion of boundaries and routines with Grantwood AEA Autism Consultant Lindsay Swartzendruber; a display of non-COVID programs from Washington County Public Health staff; and a presentation on dyslexia from Mid-Prairie home-school teacher and parent Mindy VanZuiden.
