Jun. 7, 2022 10:23 am
FAIRFIELD — The trial for 16-year-old Willard Chaiden Miller of Fairfield is being moved to Western Iowa.
Judge Shawn Showers ordered the trial to be moved from Fairfield to Council Bluffs.
Miller’s attorneys requested the change of venue, and prosecutors did not oppose the request.
The defense said that the trial has received extensive publicity in the Fairfield area. The trial is set to begin Nov. 1
Miller is accused of killing his Fairfield High School Spanish teacher Nohema Graber in November 2021. He was charged with first degree murder along with classmate Jeremy Goodale, 17.
Goodale’s request for a change of venue also has been approved, but the location has not yet been set. His trial is scheduled to begin on Aug. 23.
Both Goodale and Miller will be tried as adults after the judge denied their requests to have the trials moved to Juvenile Court.
