Minor damage
A small fire Thursday afternoon caused minor damage to the front porch of a house on the 100 block of North Adams Street in Mt. Pleasant. A police officer at the scene said the fire started in a container on the porch. A passerby, the officer said, used a fire extinguisher to nearly put out the fire before Mt. Pleasant firemen arrived. The fire department made sure the fire did not rekindle.
