Minor injuries and $8,000 worth of damage were reported following a two-vehicle accident on Saturday.

Minor injuries and $8,000 worth of damage were reported following a two-vehicle accident on Saturday.
The Mt. Pleasant Police Department responded to a two-vehicle accident on the intersection of Grand Ave. and Baker St. at 6:44 p.m., on Saturday, June 23.
According to police reports, a 2009 Toyota Corolla, operated by Dakota Howard, was traveling northbound and failed to stop at the intersection. The Howard vehicle collided with a 2006 Suzuki Forenza, owned and operated by Maribel Peralta. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $8,000. A state acident report was completed.
Minor injuries were reported at the scene. Howard was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
The Mt. Pleasant Police Department was assisted on scene by the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department, Henry County Health Center Ambulance Servcies and Newberry Towing.
