According to the Mt. At 5 p.m. yesterday, the police department was investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the Comfort Inn and Suites parking lot. An officer approached the vehicle in a patrol car after seeing a male subject enter and start the vehicle.
The 1998 Dodge Ram with Missouri plates, that belonged on another vehicle, left the scene at a high rate of speed and led officers on a pursuit for several minutes before entering the Walmart parking lot.
After the vehicle had entered the Walmart parking lot, the subject jumped from the truck while it was still moving. The truck came to rest against a post in front of the entrance while the subject ran into the store.
Officers pursued and apprehended the suspect in the garden center.
The police department was assisted by the Henry County Sheriff?s Office. The investigation is continuing, according to the police.
